The Meroite and his bull
19" 18" Pencil and water color on paper.

This drawing is an attempt at reflecting the Meroitic esthetics in cloth designs. The people of Meroe enjoy adorning their cloth with lots of colors and designs. A unique tradition among the Meroites was to dress their cattle. As seen on the bull figure, colored fabrics were traditionally wrapped around the bull's neck and horns.
